Authorities in Burbank sought more information from the public Wednesday about a man arrested for allegedly defrauding an audio-visual rental company who may be involved in multiple such incidents.
In December, police received a report of a man who rented camera equipment from a private dealer and failed to pay for or return it, according to the Burbank Police Department.
Investigators later identified the suspect as 32-year-old Ryan Levon Roman of Los Angeles, who was arrested on Feb. 26 in the Westwood Village area.
Police said Roman is believed to be involved in similar thefts in Burbank and throughout Los Angeles County.
Roman was already on probation for previous thefts within the county but was out of compliance with his terms of probation as of August 2024, according to the BPD.
On Friday, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office filed one count of grand theft against Roman. He was being held on $75,000 bail. Anyone with knowledge of similar incidents was asked to contact Detective Arias of the BPD at 818-238-3010.
